Ecodriver Championship with UVIS

We provided the ‘UVIS (Ubiquitous Vehicle Information System) for the first Ecodriver Championship, hosted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and supervised by the Korea Transportation Safety Authority and Incheon Metropolitan City. This event was held to promote the greenhouse gas reduction policy, and host the Ecodriver championship for passenger car drivers and truck drivers and thus raise citizen’s awareness of ecodriving.

In particular, the 30 passenger cars and 20 trucks, equipped with the UVIS terminal, departed from the Incheon Asiad Stadium, and ran about 18km around the ecological part of Cheongna International City and the large discount stores in the vicinities. Also, various related events, such as the Virtual Ecodriving Experience hall, were held to raise the awareness of ecodriving.

Meanwhile, we are gradually expanding the scope of the UVIS business, which used to involve only buses and trucks only as of June 2014, to include rent-a-cars and corporate cars. This Ecodrive Championship allowed not only participants, but also spectators to enhance their awareness of the advantages of ecodriving and the importance of green logistics.
